Arm liposuction – South Yarra, Melbourne

If you feel uncomfortable about the shape of your arms, or are frustrated that they won’t change shape despite efforts through diet and exercise, arm liposuction may provide an excellent solution for you.

Tumescent Arm LiposuctionUpper arm liposuction can  alter the shape of your arms by carefully removing fat cells, often with satisfying results. Dr Feldman regularly performs liposuction on patients’ arms  in her registered day procedure centre in South Yarra. (near Toorak, Prahran, Windsor and Richmond). She uses only local anaesthesia instead of a general anaesthetic, which helps recovery time and is less stressful on your body.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner. The ‘before and after’ photographs on Dr Joni Feldman’s website illustrate examples of the types of procedures Dr Feldman provides, along with the results received. Results may vary, depending on the individual. Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

The procedure

Dr Feldman chooses tumescent liposuction for all her procedures. This involves injecting into the fat layer a large quantity of fluid containing anaesthetic, a salt solution and medications to minimalise bleeding. Then, using a cannula, she gently sucks the extraneous fatty tissue away.

A few hours after the procedure you’ll be able to return home with some light painkillers (such as paracetamol) and oral antibiotics. Arms, compared to thighs or tummy, tend to heal quickly after liposuction, so relatively minimal downtime is required. However, liposuction is a surgical procedure and, as with all surgery, requires adequate care and healing time. You must carefully follow Dr Feldman’s instructions during this time.

Potential liposuction risks

It is essential you understand all the risks involved with liposuction to make an informed decision before proceeding.

Complications associated with liposuction may include asymmetry, skin rippling, excessive loose skin, poor scarring, abnormal skin pigmentation, bleeding, infection, seroma formation (fluid accumulation under the skin), deep vein thrombosis, cardiac and pulmonary complications, swelling, poor wound healing, bruising, and a potential need for revision surgery. Dr Feldman will discuss all potential surgical risks with you at your initial consultation. She will be happy to address any concerns or questions so that you are fully informed before proceeding with your surgery.

Arm liposuction cost
