Cheek fillers, using injectable dermal filler.

Everything you need to know…

Cheek fillers can restore volume, contours to your face. This type of nonsurgical cheek enhancement is an effective way of correcting multiple aesthetic concerns in the midface region.

As we age, our bone structure changes, we lose subcutaneous tissue and fat pads slowly disappear. Consequently, our cheeks begin to flatten or take on a sunken look – one of the first tell-tale signs of ageing. This loss of volume can make nasolabial folds (the folds between the nose and mouth) more prominent, and lines and sagging under the eyes more noticeable.

By injecting volumising filler  into the mid-face area, we can improve facial contours .

Dr Feldman injects a dermal filler deep into the skin to immediately enhance the midface area. A variety of different fillers can be used in the cheek area and can be tailored to provide any of the following:

  • increased volume
  • improved shape
  • a more defined contour
  • more facial definition

Common questions

How long do cheek fillers last?

Depending on the type of cheek filler used (with thicker formulations usually lasting longer), fillers have been clinically proven to last anywhere between six months to 2 years. Injections around active areas of the face, such as the mouth and lips tend to dissipate more quickly; however, less active areas of the face, such as cheeks or temples tend to maintain the filler for longer.

Are there any risks?

As with any medical procedure, there are risks involved with the use of dermal fillers. Most side effects associated with dermal fillers, such as swelling and bruising occur shortly after injection and many resolve in a few days to weeks. In some cases, side effects may emerge weeks, months, or years later. Read more about dermal filler risks here.

Are cheek fillers painful?

Dermal fillers are relatively painless. After a pinprick sensation as the needle or cannula is inserted, little else is felt as the contents contain a local anaesthetic.

What is dermal or cheek filler made of?

Dermal fillers are a clear gel made of a natural  compound called hyaluronic acid. This substance is found in the skin naturally but depletes as we age.

Do you offer lip fillers as well?
